The APC is happy to organise a Bag2School collection on 12 June, next to the Cathcart Primary School gate. Bag2School accepts clean, second-hand clothes and shoes (no school uniforms or PE kits) in specially provided bags or in a large sealed bin bag.

Bring your items—clothing, hats, shoes, and bags—to the Cathcart Gate on 12 June, between 8:15 and 9:00 am. Bag2School will collect and weigh the donations, and the APC will receive funds based on the total weight.

What happens with collected cloths:

•⁠  ⁠Reuse (around 75% of collections): The vast majority of the good-quality second-hand clothing is sold to importers and wholesalers overseas in Eastern and Western Europe, Africa, and Asia, where it is then sold for reuse in local markets, helping to supply affordable clothing and support local economies.

•⁠  ⁠Recycling (around 25%): The remaining portion of the textiles that are not suitable for reuse as clothing are sent for recycling. These materials are repurposed into things like industrial wiping cloths, padding for furniture, or are shredded to be remade into new garments.
